Medical Update

I went to the doctor today about getting pregnant and to get some lab results. It looks as if I have Polycystic Ovaries. I have high insulin levels and low progesterone levels. (This is exactly what I thought just from hearing things in nursing school and my symptoms). It at least is good to know why I have not gotten pregnant again since the miscarriage. She prescribed me Provera again so I will start my period and Metformin (a diabetic drug) to lower my insulin. The doctor was very promising though and said I should be pregnant before summer comes! Only down fall is the Metformin pill is pretty big (for me atleast) and as you probably know I cannot swallow pills very well and a couple months ago was the first time I was able to at all. Thanks keeping our growing family in your prayers!!!

Winter Storm 2009

Well like most of Louisville, our power went out at our house. Plus we were snowed in on top of it. It went out really early Wed morning. We got ahold of my mom and stepdad and they came to rescue us in his truck! We did some plumbing things (I dunno what Brian did it) to make sure our pipes wouldn't freeze, packed up some things and Mercedes and headed to my mom's warm house! I am glad they have had the place to keep us and our stuff. So far most of my friends from school , Devin (Christa's boyfriend), my dad, us, my grandma, my stepbrother/his whole family , and several other people are out of power.

Snow Day

Today we had our first snow day of the year.... Which was very nice! Although, UL did wait until 5:45 am to cancell them and I was supposed to leave by 5:30am to be at clinicals and I just had so much hope I was still in my PJs waiting for them to say we were out :) Today we hung around the house, watched tv, played on the computer and spent time together. I also tried a few new recipes ( I am trying to branch out some so if you have any good ones send them to me!). I fixed Ritzy Chicken Casserole and Baked Potato Casserole below. If was also Mercedes first time in the snow! She was not such a big fan because the ice was hard and cold!

We just heard we are out tomorrow too!!! YAY!

Tag...

TAG... your it!
I do not usually do these but this one seemed fun so here goes!!!The RULES:1.) Go to where you store your digital photos and open the 4Th folder.2.) Go to the 4Th picture and post it.3.) Explain the picture.4.) Tag 4 additional people.
This picture is from our honeymoon (cruise to the Caribbean)... When you go on a cruise once you set sail there is a muster drill, where everyone on the boat has to put on their life jackets and go stand in front of the little boat we would get on incase the ship goes down! It is very long and boring drill so I tried to make it entertaining by taking pictures... Okay, now I tag Jessi Meredith, and thats all I know that read this that haven't already done this post :)

New Years Eve Celebration

Me and Brian on New Years Eve
Steve and Mom

Me and Kelsy

Dad and Christa

Kelsy and Jason
On New Years Eve we stuck to our tradition. It is to go to Kinpin Lanes and celebrate with our families. This year we rented 3 lanes: It is $150 a lane (5 people per lane) so = $30/ person. Not too bad since it includes unlimited bowling from 9:30-1am, bowling shoes, 2 large pizzas per lane, unlimited popcorn and sodas. Plus they have a fun dj there playing music for us to dance to. This year it was: Me, Brian, Christa, My Dad, My Mom, My Stepdad, Dan and his son Zack, My Aunt Diane and Uncle Chris, Brian's Dad and Uncle Darrell, Brian's Brother Jason and Nate and Brian's neice Kelsy. It was tons of fun. We hope to do it every year and keep adding people to join us.

Reading Over Christmas Break

I normally am not one who likes to read, especially in my free time. But over this break I have been reading like crazy! I have finished 3 books so far! THREE! First is Multiple Blessings, from Kate from Jon and Kate plus 8! It is a great book if you love the show, are a Christian wife, or looking to get pregnant (all I am!). Second Was Fertility Facts, which was a HUGE book and I finished it the day I bought it. It was like 2-3 inch thick book but was interesting and easy to read.
Third I am finishing today is The Duggars: 20 and counting, it is a great Christian book. It is about the loving family raising thier kids to serve the Lord. It has tips, verses, recipes, facts, ect...
