Christmas

We had a great holiday season and Christmas. I really enjoyed coming up with new Christmas traditions for our family. There was lots of baking and cookie decorating, especially by Brayden who loves to help cook. We also had fun playing with the Elf on the Shelf. We took a fun family Christmas train ride also, with Santa, Rudolph and some cookies! I tried to help the boys learn about the real Christmas story by reading a Christmas book they got to open every night. I tried to make the story books all be about Jesus and His story. There were some really cute ones from the animals point of view and some in really simple words. The boys aren't great about being read to, so some nights it was a challenge. Brayden was so funny talking about "baby Jesus" outside because we have a inflatable manger scene in our yard,haha.

 

 

 

On the 23rd my moms brothers and their family came up to celebrate. We had a great lunch and played dirty santa. Christmas eve we went to church with my mom and steve. The rest of the night was spent at our house with my dads side of the family (35+ people). Christmas morning we had our time and then went to my moms for presents and breakfast. After that we headed to Brian's parents for lunch and presents. Lastly we headed back to my moms for dinner. It was a busy few days but filled with lots of family fun. Bennett still is not a fan of opening presents, he would rather just know what is inside. Brayden however loved opening everything for everyone! Bristol even enjoyed opening a few, the ones Brayden let her anyways.

The boys got lots of Toy Story things which they were thrilled about (good thing I decided they needed 2 buzz and woody or we would have had fights every day). They also got some Thomas the train stuff and trains. They also got a 8ft long hot wheels track! Bristol got some real Ugg boots from Mamaw to match mommys. She also got some fun girly toys and lots of cute outfits.

Bristol is 7 months old

Bristol turned 7 months yesterday! She spent the day with Mommy and Daddy at the UL/UK game cheering her Cards to victory! She is such a happy and content baby. She loves her baby food now. Sometimes if your not feeding her fast enough she will cry between every bite. She is nursing less, not every 3 hours anymore. She enjoyed her first Christmas this month. She is not crawling yet but is still really close! She loves sitting in the bottom of the shower now and playing with the water splashing up. She sits up like a pro. She likes to sit up in high chairs while out and does very well in them. Still no teeth but is chewing on everything. She loves chewing on the bottom of a cold water bottle. Yesterday she also went "sledding" on the sidewalk to Mamaws house. She likes to bang her hand down when excited "the hammer fist". She can get herself from sitting to crawling position. She can grasp things with her two fingers, like puffs. She thinks her brothers are hilarious. She smiles every time she is talked to. She likes to jump up and down while sitting to "dance".

First Snow

We had our first decent snow of the year the other day. We decided to take the boys outside to enjoy it some! Then we thought we should take Bristol down to Mamaw's house so mommy can play too. So we bundled them all up and put the boys on the big sled and Bristol on the baby sled and off to grandmas house we went, pulling the little ones on the sled on the sidewalks, haha. Bristol thought it was so much fun! Bennett has always loved the snow and he still did. Brayden liked the ride but did not like when the snow got on his hands, and his gloves were too big so they kept falling off. Brayden liked to tell me "me see mamaw. Me tell her me cold". He would go in and help my mom make muffins and then come back out. In and out, in and out for Brayden. Bennett would have stayed out for days.

Bristol 6 months old

 

Bristol turned 6 months old this week. Seriously, half a year old??? She can do so much now.

 

• She has been sitting up great for about 2 weeks. I can leave the room and come back with her still sitting up.

• She wants to crawl so bad! She can scoot backwards and to the side but not forward yet. She gets on her hands and knees and rocks forward right now.
• She is rolling over great.
• She still smiles all the time.
• She has gotten quite spoiled and doesn't like sleeping in her own bed, I know we need to work on that one soon. She will usually sleep in it half the night.
• She thinks her brothers are so cool, she really thinks having a sippy cup would be awesome, she always tries to steal theirs.
• She still breast feeds (usually every 3 hours, every once in a while she goes longer).
• She started eating some baby food about a week and half ago. I've just been giving her one jar once a day so far. She loves it. Squash and carrots get funny faces from her, but she keeps on eating them haha.

 

• She got her ears pierced on Wednesday (day before 6 months).

• She has gotten to be a wiggle worm.
• She can sit up in a grocery cart now.
• She also sat up in a restaurant high chair for the first time.

• She has went 2 UL men's basketball games. She does really good at them, smiles, watches, sleeps.

• She likes playing with and chewing on toys now.
• She doesn't really like the car seat anymore, unless she is sleepy.
• She went shopping black Friday with me and my mom all night and did great.
• She wears 6 months now but something's are getting tight, some 9 months or 6-9 months fit.
• She is working on her teeth but none yet. She is a slobber bucket.

Halloween

We had lots of fun celebrating Halloween this year as a family. The kids were Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and Minnie Mouse. Brayden didn't like keeping his hat on. The boys loved trick or treating. They actually got the concept this year and did not want to go home, even though it was cold and they were exhausted by the end of it. We had food at our house and my family came over to see the kids and trick or treat with us.
