How Our First Married Christmas Went:

Our first Christmas together went really well! Christmas Eve around noon my dad called to tell me that his side of the family was cancelling getting together again because Paula (the relative that stepped in to have it at her house after Aunt Cheri couldn't)'s husband got sick the night before. So after talking to Brian we decided to volunteer our house last minute for the Christmas Eve get together. We cleaned and called everyone and it ended up being a success. Christmas morning me, Brian, and Mercedes went downstairs and opened our gifts from each other. Brian got me so many good gifts. I got a journey necklace, a new digital camera, tickets to see Grease on Broadway in Cinnci, a double person papazon chair for our living room, Jon & Kate Plus 8 DVD and Book, and several other things. He got from me a new QuickFire cell phone, a chiping net for golf, golf shoes, a air pumper upper thingy, some clothes, a new jacket, and a few other things too. Mercedes got a purse to be carried in, booties, some toys, and a Kong with stuffing. After opening our presents we hurried and got ready and were off to my mom's house by 9:30am. We got there and woke everyone up to open presents. From my mom and Steve we got a card table and chairs, luggage, pots and pans. She got me a laptop, some clothes, the new Classic Cardy Ugg boots, a digital picture frame, a electric blanket and some other things. Brian got from them a new down pillow, a sweater, and a car jack. My sister got me some scarves, a baby footprint picture board, and Brian a robe. Devin got me some house slippers and lotion set and got Brian a UL shirt. After opening presents there we hung around for awhile and then went to Brian's parents house. There we ate lunch and hung out. From his parents I got a picture frame, a sign that says "All because two people fell in love", and a $100 gift card to Target. Brian got a $75 gift card to Dick's and golf balls. We got to spend time with Brian's parents, Granny's, Uncle Darrell, his sister Lacy, and brother Jason and niece Kelsy. My dad and sister also came over there. Around 4:30 we went to my mom's again for dinner. After dinner we went to the theaters to see Curious Case of Benjamin Button. It was a very long movie, good story line, but kind of weird, and ending was different. We almost saw Marley & Me but now I am glad I didn't because my cousin did and she said it was so sad and also there was a whole big part about her miscarrying in the movie and I don't think I am ready to handle that type of movie. Overall it was an AMAZING first Christmas married. We are so glad that God sent His son to earth to eventually die for our sins so we can one day go to Heaven to be with Him. I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas.

How we celebrate Christmas

Christmas Eve we celebrate with my dad's side of the family. Normally this would be at my Aunt Cheri's house, but my uncle's mom had a heart attack a couple days ago therefore since they are dealing with family things it is moved to a relative's house named Paula (I am glad it is not cancelled though). Thanks to Paula for stepping up and volunteering her house last minute. I love this Christmas tradition because I get to see all the little kids in my family that I only get to see once or twice a year. Me and Brian could play with the kids all night, who cares about the adults. The weird thing over there is they only eat snacks until midnight and then dinner is eaten at midnight. Most of the family plays games around the table, Tabo, Pictionary, Poker, ect...
Christmas day me and Brian are going to wake up early (like 7am) and open presents together for the FIRST TIME! I am excited about it. Then we are going to get ready and go to my mom's house for Christmas morning.
After that and breakfast we are going to Brian's parents house to have a big turkey lunch with them. And there we will also get to see Brian's brother and neice. And my dad usually comes over also.
Then we are going back to my mom's for Christmas dinner. (Turkey again :) ! ) And we always go to the movies on Christmas night, and then usually to a Denny's or Waffle house or whatever we can find open.
My mom's extended family and my aunts and uncles on her side are coming in town on the Sunday after Christmas to celebrate. So that should be fun getting to extend the celebration a little bit longer!
Merry Christmas everyone!!!!!!

Finished with the Semester!

Today at 9am I took my last final of the semester! It is such a weight off my shoulders to be done. It has been a semester full of struggles, such as almost not getting the grade I needed to pass the Adult Health class, the miscarriage of our baby, studying non-stop, severe headaches, ect... But today I am done! I am ready to celebrate the Christmas season! God is the major thing that got me through this semester (lots of prayers!). I plan on spending my time off straightening up my house, scrapbooking, seeing family, sending out thanks yous from the wedding (oops!), and spending some much needed time with Brian. Thanks everyone for their support and prayers throughout the semester!

Overcoming a Struggle!

Today was a day of many struggles for me. I had a test in my Adult Health class, which some of you probably know has been a constant battle for me this semester. I ended up with a 74 on the test :( Not the grade I had hoped for and this means I need a 78 on the final. Please pray for me as I study this week for Fridays fast approaching final.
But there is another accomplishment I wanted to mention... I called my doctor today about not getting a period back (TMI?) since the miscarriage yet, which has been almost 8 weeks. I can't believe it has been that long, it seems like only yesterday. But the doctor prescribed me progestin to take for 10 days. That seems great, right? To get this whole process started over again! Well, only one problem... I can't swallow pills. I never have been able to. Yes I know I am 21 this should be easy for me. But it is not. It is a mental thing of mine that I can't seem to shake. I cry, beg, anything but to have to swallow a pill (even a little tiny one). Since I am so desperate to be a mommy and carry a baby again I was determine to get this done.
I first tried apple sauce, putting in on the spoon with the pill. Well I would find it in the apple sauce with my tongue and not be able to swallow it. My throat would just clamp up (as usual). Okay then I tried some prayer about it (Really!). Then I closed my eyes and Brian tried to trick me into swallowing it with the apple sauce (so I wouldn't know which spoonful it was in). Didn't work. Brian gave up. (Haha). I wasn't going to give up just yet. I tried it with some water, still didn't work. Now it was probably 10 minutes of this already. Finally, I shoved it to the back of my throat and pressed my tongue down with my hand so it couldn't block it from going down like usual and then swallowed water over and over until I had to come up for air...... and to my surprise the pill was gone! I HAD SWALLOWED IT FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE!!! God answers prayers (even ones we think may be silly).

Family Blog

Hello everyone, we decided to start a family blog! We wanted to thank everyone for their support of our family, especially through our recent miscarriage of Jordan Gibson (7weeks in the tummy). We are going to keep everyone updated on what is going on in our lives on here. I am going to try and stay updated and blog frequently. And hopefully once we are blessed to be pregnant again we will blog lots more on here like we had previously done on our Baby Blog. Right now things have been very busy in our family! I am into finals right now and studying and Brian has been working selling houses! We have been decorating for the upcoming holidays too! Here is a quick view of our Christmas decorations:
